Summary:  The Cartwrights arrive in Pueblo de las Ponderosas, its late in the season and Marie is ill.  Will they be able to find the very last wagon train to attempt the Sierras in the 1846 season or will they be marooned in the town with few provisions and even less money.  Ben sets out to solve their problems but creates more for himself and his family.
